YOUTH MINISTRY

IDENTIFYING SCRIPTURE:

“but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:15-16

 

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Youth Ministry exists to empower students to 
Connect to God and others, Grow in Christ, and Go to the world.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1.     We empower students to Connect to God and others: worship and fellowship.

a)     “The Junction” empowers Students to Connect in Christ weekly via fellowship games, worship music led by the youth praise band, youth sermon, age and gender appropriate pit crews/discussion groups.

b)     Other ways to connect include “The Way” 1st Friday each month, concerts, snow tubing, amusement parks, church camp, over-nighters, sports events, Jr / Senior Connection, roller skating nights, host church dinner.

2.     We empower students to Grow in Christ:   discipleship 

a)     Weekly age/gender select Youth Small Groups grow students in Christ.

b)     Other ways to grow include conferences (PCTC, CIY and Oasis),  Bible Bowl, Preacher Boys, college visitation, guest speakers, trips, VBS.

3.     We empower students to Go to the world:  ministry & evangelism.

a)      Ministry Teams empower students go in ministry and evangelism.

b)     Other ways to go include missions trips, nursing home visits, inner city Kids For Christ, SWAT service activities (Servants With A Testimony),  National and Local right to Life/morality rallies,  float in local parade,  fundraisers.

c)       The youth ministry team meets monthly to evaluate and facilitate success in achieving these responsibilities.  Success is measured horizontally by movement of students through the empowering process:    CONNECT,    GROW,    GO
