TECH MINISTRY

IDENTIFYING SCRIPTURE:

“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.  For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Matthew 13:16-17

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Technical Service Ministry at SCC exists to ensure that the Gospel message being presented is clearly heard and plainly seen to all. We minister to those who attend our congregational worship services and Bible studies, as well as to those who are unable to attend when the message is presented.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1.     Presentation: This vital ministry presents the visual slideshows for every service. Voluntary time at home is necessary to create the week-to-week needs of services. Some computer knowledge is helpful in making this ministry a success.

2.     Audio control and recording: Ensures that sound and recording of services are of the highest quality possible. A “good ear” and some audio equipment training are necessary to participate in this aspect of the ministry.

3.     Video control and recording: Works with cameras, video mixers, computers and other multimedia equipment to create and produce weekly videos of services and special events of SCC.

4.     Lighting control: Helps to create a worshipful setting in mood and focus during worship services. This ministry is very involved in supporting the Drama ministry of the church for Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School and other events that occur.

5.     Distribution: Is essential in maintaining continuity between the Worship Resource Center (WRC), Audio/Video ministries and the congregation. This ministry ensures that requested video tapes, CDs or other media are created in a thorough manner and made available to the congregation for distribution.

6.     Duplication of services: Maintains a history of messages preached and events that have occurred at the church that may be used for future reference. This ministry is vital in letting people who can’t be present for a service or event to be able to keep in touch with church life. People who are sick or away may request a Video or CD of almost all events that occur in the church.

7.     Worship Resource Center (WRC): This ministry is the contact point between the Technical Service Ministry and the congregation. Requests for DVDs or CDs of events are available through the WRC.
