SECURITY MINISTRY

IDENTIFYING SCRIPTURE:

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Security Ministry exists to maintain the safety of the people and property
that make up Severn Christian Church.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1.     Perform security checks throughout the building and around the church campus during worship and classroom times looking for any suspicious behavior or people who are in undesignated areas.

2.     Ensure the safety of all who worship at SCC by monitoring the people who come on the church property and enter the church buildings.

3.     Provide protection for children while they are in classrooms and observe their exchange with parents after worship.

4.     Monitor classrooms by locking them when not in use to protect from vandalism or any other unnecessary activity in the classrooms.

5.     Ensure that children observe the campus rules and be firm with the implementation of those rules the firmness and compassion.

6.     Provide a presence at Special Events as deemed necessary. 

a)     Assist teachers and administrators during VBS week.  Help direct children safely from one location to another.  Ensure that all children are accounted for during the times they are dropped off and picked up by their parents.

b)     Provide security, parking, and direction for the church’s annual patriotic celebration around Independence Day.
