GROUNDS MINISTRY

IDENTIFYING SCRIPTURE:

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Grounds Ministry exists to maintain the beauty, cleanliness, and order of the church campus.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1.     Cut the grass and weed eat the church campus (This excludes the rental house and surrounding property when the house is rented). 

a)      The coordination of grass cutting and weed eating is done through the Grounds Ministry Leader.  Monthly schedules will be posted on bulletin board.

b)      Two people mow with the tractors, one cutting the islands in the parking lot,and 1-2 using a weed eater are needed.  No one under age 16 is to use the mowing tractors.

2.     Maintain the grounds equipment (this includes mowing tractors, tractor, push mowers, weed eaters, snow blowers, bush hog, wagon, hand tools). 

a)      Ensure the equipment with engines are serviced and in good working order.

b)      Keep equipment with engines filled with gasoline and ready for use.

3.     Remove snow from sidewalks and steps around the church buildings.  This wouldinclude adding ice melt when necessary.  (Snow removal of the parking lot is contracted to Texaco on Aquahart Rd.).

4.     Oversee trash collection (not in the building but outside) ensuring that litter is picked up on the church campus.

5.     Oversee the church barn (storage) ensuring that the barn is kept locked and does not become a catchall and “junkyard.”

6.     Coordinate work days with the staff when such are needed for the grounds.
