EDUCATION MINISTRY

IDENTIFYING SCRIPTURE:

Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me in Your truth and teach me,
for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day.” (Psalm 25:4-5)

Give instructions to a wise man and he will be still wiser, teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:9-10)

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Education Ministry exists to provide a program of biblically sound and practical Christian-living studies for all ages including specific studies from the Bible or pertinent social, family, and personal issues that impact the understanding and application of the Scriptures. Key Elements: Bible Study, Prayer, Fellowship

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Develop praise-positive environment for teachers and students through teaching sound doctrine, biblical concepts and studies, age-specific curriculum and activities, to nurture: 

  1. personal relationship with God,

  2. spiritual development and growth, and

  3. outreach to others in Christian love.



2. Facilitate full-spectrum scheduling and support of areas of ministry including:

Fellowship Event

Education Group

Sunday School

Nursery (infants to walkers)

Sunday Morning Worship

Toddler (walkers to 2 year olds)

Sunday Evening Worship

Preschool I (2&3 year olds)

Wednesday Evening

Preschool II (4 years to Kindergarten)

Special Events (Revival, Concerts)

School-age (1st to 12th grade)

3. Organize opportunities for continued spiritual development through special events such as the Summer Cross Training for the youth.

4. Coordinate education activities with other ministries, i.e., Youth, Silver Saints, and Small Groups, to ensure seamless orchestration of events.

5. Expand awareness of the various aspects of the ministry to expand servant involvement and to promote communication.

6. Examine curriculum to ensure it is biblically sound and meets the spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs of the teaching team and the students.

7. Provide teaching teams with supplies and resources (Education Resource Center and special seminars) and techniques to enhance student involvement and promote application of concepts taught.
